What is the Adopt-A-Stream program?Adopt-a-stream logo

The Adopt-A-Stream program in the City of Lexington invites local residents, schools, and organizations to take an active role in protecting and improving the health of our waterways. By “adopting” a section of a creek or stream, volunteers commit to regular cleanups, monitoring water quality, and reporting pollution concerns. This hands-on stewardship is vital for Lexington because our community depends on clean streams for drinking water, recreation, and wildlife habitat. Every cleanup helps prevent litter from reaching our local water ways, strengthens our sense of community pride, and ensures that Lexington remains a beautiful and sustainable place for generations to come.
