Future Possibilities

EggerThe City of Lexington is continually growing and some of the newest projects will change the housing landscape in the years to come. Austria-based Egger Group plans to build a wood-product production facility in Lexington and create 770 jobs over the next 15 years. The jobs will come in stages and Egger is looking to provide corporate housing for those employees. The hope is the company will house its employees in newly designed apartments in Uptown. 

Parkview GroundbreakingAlso on the horizon, the historic Parkview Apartments on West 3rd Avenue are about to undergo $2.5 million dollars in updates that will restore the abandoned buildings to their original glory. The market rate apartments will feature modern touches, such as granite countertops and hardwood floors. The apartments were used as dorm style housing for teachers back in the early 1900's. They feature high ceilings and beautiful crown moldings. 


Park Place NeighborhoodIf your interest lies in historic architecture, Park Place neighborhood is rich with eclectic character and contains many fine homes from the early 20th century, all within walking distance of historic Uptown Lexington. This community is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods and is part of the Lexington Residential District, listed in the National Register of Historic Places


The Vineyards NeighborhoodMore modern housing choices are available within neighborhoods such as The Vineyards at Lexington located near Childress Vineyards just off of US Highway 52 (future I-285). This bicycle-friendly neighborhood has amenities including a community swimming pool, sidewalks, with a mixture of single family homes and townhomes. Located only 2 miles from Uptown Lexington and with quick access to freeways, this community is ideal for the commuting business world traveling north to Winston-Salem or Greensboro or south to Charlotte or Concord. 

Country Club

9th Hole Green The Country Club neighborhood offers the best of many worlds, wrapping the Lexington Municipal Golf Course in an open setting with large beautifully landscaped yards. The neighborhood contains a swimming pool and is convenient to the elegantly renovated Commons on the Green event center.
