The Lexington Police Department is proudly hosting the 36th Annual National Night Out event in a new way!
On Tuesday, August 6th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. the Lexington Police Department will be celebrating National Night Out simultaneously at four neighborhood locations:
- Washington Park - 100 Bookington Drive
- Grimes Park - 25 Hege Drive
- Green Needles Park - 264 Charlotte Drive
- Thomason Street - near the Light of the World Church
Each neighborhood will feature interactions with local officers, a chance for children to interact with police equipment, displays from the Lexington Fire Department and the N.C. State Highway Patrol, and games provided by the Parks and Recreation Department. Light refreshments will be provided.
National Night Out is an annual event held nationally on the first Tuesday in August. Neighbors come together from all over the City of Lexington with local law enforcement agencies to raise crime and drug prevention awareness and to send a message to criminals that the communities are organized and are fighting back.
