Lexington was named one of the best managed cities in 2024 by Business View Magazine, a news source for executives, entrepreneurs, business owners, and franchisers on industry trends and best practices. The City of Lexington received the award following Mayor Jason Hayes’ interview in the November edition of Business View Magazine.

The November edition, "Civil and Municipal", included a focus on growth and development in local municipalities with Lexington being the lead North Carolina feature. Some of the topics highlighted in Roots of Revival include Lexington's economic development revival, the recent housing boom, and the City’s efforts towards improving infrastructure and quality of life for residents.
