The 40th annual Barbecue Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024. The Lexington Barbecue Festival, Inc. obtains a Special Event Permit each year that allows the use of all public space and designated private property within a designated area. 

 

East Center Street from the Square to Salisbury Street will close on Friday, October 25th, starting at 3 p.m. to allow time for stage assembly. Main Street and the remainder of the event boundary will close at 6 p.m. on Friday. The social district will not be in effect on the day of the Barbecue Festival (whether a business is located within the boundaries of the Festival or not).

Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area on the evening of Friday, October 25 to help with congestion.
