Payment Plans for Past Due Balances on Utility Bills (COVID-19)

Post Date:09/03/2020 2:29 PM

Lexington Utilities recognizes COVID-19 has greatly impacted our community and way of life. Governor Cooper’s Executive Orders 124 & 142 provided financial relief to those customers experiencing financial hardships from those impacts.

Executive Order 142, suspending utility disconnects, ended on July 29. Lexington Utilities is extending the grace period and the repayment plan period beyond Governor Cooper’s orders, as a courtesy to our customers.

Later in September and into October, customers with past due balances will see a nine-month equal payment plan on the utility bill. Your monthly bill will show two amounts due each month during the plan. One amount is your regular monthly charges and the other is a portion of your remaining past due balance.

You are responsible for your utility consumption and your utility bills.

Disconnection of services related to past due bills will not occur before October 2020.

If you have any questions, please call us at 336-243-2489 or email us at customerservicemanagers@lexingtonnc.gov.
