Armored Personnel Carrier displayed at National Night OutNational Night OutThe Lexington Police Department  proudly hosts the annual National Night Out in Uptown Lexington on the first Tuesday in August. This popular family event provides an interesting combination of crime awareness, fun, food and live entertainment. Neighbors come together from all over the city with local law enforcement agencies to raise crime and drug prevention awareness and to send a message to the criminals that the communities are organized and are fighting back to discourage criminal behavior.

A safe and fun environment is provided for people of all ages. Children have rides, face painting and entertainment. Live music is provided by various types of bands.

Attendees enjoy viewing a great variety of police vehicles, motorcycles and equipment from the Lexington Police Department, as well as other surrounding law enforcement agencies. The National Night Out 2014!Lexington Fire Department, Davidson County Community Corrections, Rescue Squad and Emergency Services display their emergency equipment. In addition, community groups and area businesses are on hand to display and share information on their services.

National Night Out is a great opportunity for you and your family to get to know the public servants that are dedicated to keeping you safe. Thanks to our partnerships with the community and local businesses - hotdogs, drinks and some other treats are typically provided at no charge!

The National Night Out event brings out thousands of people to Uptown Lexington. Come out and bring your family to help make the next event even better!
